Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) is most common subtype of RMS arising from primitive embryonic skeletal-muscle cells. Hence, it can arise anywhere in the body, often in the sites where skeletal muscle is not usually found. RMS commonly occurs in the 1st decade of life in more than 50% of the cases.
