Mature cystic teratoma (MCT) of the ovary, also known as dermoid cyst, is the most common benign neoplasm of the ovary. Mature teratomas are a type of germ cell tumor that contain well-differentiated embryological tissues from more than one germ cell layer (ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm) [
1]. Even though the peak incidence is in the reproductive age group, they can occur at any age [
2]. Mature cystic teratomas (MCT) are usually unilateral tumors confined to the ovary. Very rarely there can be coexisting intra-abdominal lesions [
