Zusammenfassung

Unser klinisches Handeln basiert vor allem auf zwei Aspekten; erstens auf theoretischem Wissen über Erkrankungen und Therapien und zweitens auf erfahrungsbasiertem Wissen, das wir im Wesentlichen durch praktische Erfahrung im Berufsalltag erwerben. Erfahrungsbasiertes Wissen folgt keiner stringenten Systematik, sondern wird vielmehr durch unterschiedliche Aspekte immer wieder neu geprägt. Beispielsweise verschiebt sich die Risikoeinschätzung durch die Erfahrung eines einzelnen prägnanten Ereignisses. Für eine gleichbleibende und für alle Behandler nachvollziehbare Therapiequalität bedarf es jedoch verlässlicher Daten. Liegt entsprechendes evidenzbasierte Wissen vor, kann mithilfe einer engen Theorie-Praxis-Vernetzung die Versorgung kritisch reflektiert und weiter optimiert werden. Forschung in der pädiatrischen Palliativversorgung kann wesentlich dazu beitragen, die Situation von Patienten, Familien und Versorgern zu verbessern. Das Kapitel stellt die besonderen Herausforderungen derpädiatrischen Forschung heraus und beleuchtet verschiedene Forschungsansätze.
