Lagerungsplagiozephalus beim Säugling

Zusammenfassung

Die Prävalenz des Plagiozephalus beim Säugling nahm nach Empfehlung der alleinigen Rückenlage als Schlafposition zur Prävention des plötzlichen Kindstodes im westlichen Kulturraum zu. Durch die Verschiebung des Schädels von der Halswirbelsäule bis hin zur Ohrachse kann ein Plagiozephalus die frühkindliche Entwicklung beeinflussen; deshalb ist therapeutisches Handeln bei ausgeprägten Asymmetrien gerechtfertigt. Die Autoren schlagen nach Auswertung der vorliegenden Literatur und Vergleich der bisher angewandten Interventionsmaßnahmen ein therapeutisches Konzept aus physiotherapeutischer Behandlung, Schulung der Eltern im Handling des Säuglings sowie eine stabile seitliche Lagerung als Schlafposition während einer zeitlich begrenzten Therapiephase vor.
