Paravasate entstehen aus extern i. v. zugeführten Flüssigkeiten, die sich außerhalb des Gefäßsystems befinden, weil sie entweder aus dem Gefäß oder dem System (z. B. Port) in die Umgebung ausgetreten sind oder direkt in die Umgebung infundiert oder injiziert wurden. Dabei handelt es sich in der Onkologie häufig um Zytostatika, aber auch Paravasate einfacher Infusionslösungen, von Erythrozyten oder - mit größeren Folgen - von nicht antineoplastischen Substanzen mit nekrotisierendem Potenzial z. B. wie konzentrierte Aminosäuren, Bikarbonat oder Röntgenkontrastmittel. …
