Pädiatrische Präventionsansätze

Zusammenfassung

Passiver und aktiver Tabakkonsum bei Kindern und Jugendlichen sind vermeidbare Ursachen psychischer und physischer Erkrankungen. Die Tabak(rauch)exposition führt teils unmittelbar, teils mit zeitlicher Latenz zu einer erhöhten Morbidität und Mortalität. Die Rauchprävalenz der Eltern korreliert nicht nur mit der prä- und postnatalen Exposition der Kinder. Sie entscheidet auch über den kindlichen Einstieg in den aktiven Tabakkonsum. Während Rauchprävalenz und Einstiegsalter von Mädchen und Jungen sich mittlerweile annähernd auf gleichem Niveau befinden, ist die Rauchmotivation geschlechtsspezifisch. Das Rauchverhalten von Schwangeren, Eltern, Kindern und Jugendlichen wird von soziodemografischen und -ökonomischen Faktoren beeinflusst. Diese sollten in der ärztlichen Tätigkeit berücksichtigt werden, um möglichst hohe Präventionserfolge zu erzielen. Pädiater/-innen, Schlüsselfiguren bei der Tabakprävention, unterscheiden sich voneinander in Häufigkeit und Inhalt der präventiven Beratung, Motivation und Unterstützung. Bewährte Instrumente im Rahmen der Umsetzung ärztlicher Prävention des (Passiv)Rauchens werden dargestellt.
