Zusammenfassung

Größere diagnostische und therapeutische Eingriffe sind für Menschen mit Diabetes besonders problematisch und gefährlich. Stoffwechselentgleisungen, kardiovaskuläre, renale, neurologische, psychiatrische und thrombembolische Komplikationen sind nicht selten. Zusätzlich sind bei präoperativ ungenügender Stoffwechseleinstellung weitere perioperative Komplikationen wie Wundheilungsstörungen und allgemeine Infektionen möglich. Multimorbidität, die notwendige Polypharmazie, kurze Liegedauer, unzureichendes Training von Ärzten und Pflegepersonal dieser komplex Kranken, Kostendruck und ungenügende präoperative Vorbereitung der Patienten vor Elektiveingriffen sind wesentliche Gründe für die überdurchschnittlich häufigen intra- und postoperativen Komplikationen bei Menschen mit Diabetes. Die perioperative Betreuung von Erwachsenen mit dieser Erkrankung wird von präoperativ bis zur Entlassung diskutiert, und es werden detaillierte Empfehlungen zum perioperativen Umgang mit Antidiabetika gegeben.
