Vorbemerkung der Herausgeber

Im Mai 2013 wurde von der Amerikanischen Psychiatrischen Gesellschaft in San Francisco die fünfte Version des Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) vorgestellt. Die Hoffnung, dass mit einer neuen Klassifikation der Persönlichkeitsstörungen auch psychodynamische Kriterien wieder stärker in die Klassifikation Eingang finden würden, hat sich nicht erfüllt. Die neuen psychodynamisch fundierten Kriterien wurden lediglich als zukünftige Perspektiven in ein besonderes Kapitel aufgenommen.
Wir haben unser Beiratsmitglied Otto F. Kernberg gebeten, Hintergründe und Details dieser Entwicklung zu kommentieren. (Michael Ermann, München)
