Zusammenfassung

Durch die verbesserte neurologische Intensivmedizin konnte die Letalität des Guillain-Barré-Syndroms in den letzten Jahrzehnten drastisch gesenkt werden. Dennoch bleiben bei etwa 10 –20 % der Patienten zum Teil schwere motorische Behinderungen zurück. Als Behandlungsmaßnahme der ersten Wahl gilt derzeit die Gabe von intravenösen Immunglobulinen, insbesondere bei autonom instabilen Patienten.
