Medial epicondylitis (ME), also referred to as “golfer’s elbow,” is a disease that causes degenerative changes in the insertion of the forearm muscles that attach to the medial epicondyle. The frequency of ME is estimated to be less than 1% in the general population, but it has been reported to increase from 1.5% to 8.2% in labor-intensive situations. General treatment of ME typically begins with conservative, noninvasive treatment. Key therapeutic strategies include movement improvement, cooling, NSAIDs, orthotics, and physiotherapy with a focus on eccentric strengthening. However, 5% to 15% of people resist these conservative therapies and are advised to undergo surgery. …
