Zusammenfassung

Die posttraumatische Belastungsstörung bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ist eine Störung mit chronischem Verlauf und hoher Komorbidität. Obwohl die langfristig schwerwiegenden Gesundheitskonsequenzen eine frühzeitige Therapie erfordern, werden viele Kinder aber entweder zu spät oder falsch behandelt. Erfolgreiche Interventionen bauen auf die In-sensu-Konfrontation und die kognitive Neubewertung des traumatischen Ereignisses und seiner Konsequenzen sowie der In-vivo-Konfrontation der Traumatrigger. Die derzeit am besten evaluierte Intervention für Kinder ist die traumafokussierte kognitive Verhaltenstherapie.
