Zusammenfassung

Aufgrund der inzwischen exzellenten Behandelbarkeit der „Human-immunodeficiency-virus“(HIV)-Infektion erreichen immer mehr Betroffene ein höheres Lebensalter. National und international wird bei vorliegender HIV-Infektion bereits ab einem Patientenalter von 50 Jahren vom „älteren“ Patienten gesprochen. Die HIV-Sprechstunden passen sich diesem Umstand an und nehmen Rücksicht auf die Besonderheiten des Alters. Zunehmend muss auf Begleiterkrankungen geachtet werden. Deren Diagnostik und Betreuung sowie die Themen Impfschutz, Krebsfrüherkennung und psychosoziale Aspekte wie Einsamkeit und Pflegeorganisation beschäftigen den HIV-Spezialisten in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Hausarzt, sofern Letzterer zusätzlich aufgesucht wird. Die Anforderungen der umfassenden ärztlichen Betreuung älterer HIV-Infizierter, aber auch die speziellen Anforderungen an die antiretrovirale Therapie müssen der altersentsprechenden Multimorbidität und Polypharmazie angepasst werden.
