Zusammenfassung

Eine Vielzahl nephrologischer Erkrankungen wie Autoimmunkrankheiten, Glomerulonephritiden und Z. n. Nierentransplantation erfordert eine langfristige immunsuppressive Therapie. Die damit verbundene erhöhte Infektionsanfälligkeit ist den behandelnden Ärzten geläufig; jedoch besteht bisweilen Unsicherheit, inwieweit Impfungen als präventive Maßnahmen gefahrlos angewendet werden können bzw. eine erfolgreiche Immunisierung noch möglich ist. Auch eine chronisch eingeschränkte Nierenfunktion ist per se mit einem erhöhten Infektionsrisiko assoziiert. Für diese Patienten kann eine vollständige Durchimpfung bzw. die Überprüfung einer adäquaten Impfantwort lebensrettend sein.
