Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Unverändert besteht ein großes Interesse von Tumorpatienten an der zusätzlichen Einnahme von Mikronährstoffen zwecks Immunstabilisierung während der onkologischen Therapie. Dieses Update liefert weitere Daten, den zusätzlichen Einsatz von ausgewählten Mikronährstoffen während der Tumortherapie in Erwägung zu ziehen.

Methoden

Es erfolgte eine Literaturrecherche hinsichtlich des Einsatzes von ausgewählten Mikronährstoffen in der Onkologie, die von 2015 bis 2019 in zitierfähigen Journalen erschienen sind.

Ergebnisse

Es werden Daten zu Vitamin A, C und D, Folsäure, L‑Carnitin sowie Selen und Zink präsentiert, die sowohl die Lebensqualität als auch die Prognose für onkologische Patienten betrachten.

Schlussfolgerung

Onkologisch tätige Ärzte sollten Kenntnisse über die wichtigsten Mikronährstoffe haben, um diese an die Patienten weiterzugeben und sie auch gezielt zum Nutzen der Patienten einzusetzen.

Bei Immuntherapien das erhöhte Thromboserisiko beachten

Unter modernen Systemtherapien versechsfacht sich das VTE-Risiko. Warum diese Daten relevant für die Behandlung krebsassoziierter Thrombosen sind, erläutert Prof. F. Langer im Interview. So kann es durch Immuntherapien zu inflammatorischen Syndromen z.B. im GI-Trakt kommen. Nebenwirkungen wie Durchfall oder Mukositis haben dann Einfluss auf die Wirksamkeit oraler Antikoagulantien. Aber auch in punkto Blutungsrisiko ist Vorsicht geboten. Wann hier bevorzugt NMH eingesetzt werden sollten, erläutert Prof. Langer im Interview.

Krebsassoziierte venöse Thromboembolien (CAT) haben in den vergangenen Jahren stetig zugenommen. Was hat der Anstieg mit modernen Antitumortherapien zu tun?
