Summary
Wander management through technology is developing rapidly. Home and institutional care settings utilize basic technology for wander management, including motion detectors and GPS trackers. Integrated management systems provide new technology to create safe home settings for individuals to live in the community longer. Ambient assistive technology develops safety nets for wanderers to traverse their communities with reduced risk. Future growth in this industry relies on feedback from the wanderer and their care provider. Lessening the pathology of wandering encourages technology that places the needs of the wanderer at the forefront of industry initiative.
