Hemospray® (Cook Medical, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA) is a non-contact, endoscopic hemostatic device utilizing inert Bentonite powder that is delivered through a carbon dioxide powered delivery system [1]. Since its inception, Hemospray® has been widely utilized as an effective endoscopic hemostatic technique in the management of acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage from various etiologies. Adverse events related to the usage of Hemospray® have been reported but rare [1]. We report a case with an unexpected complication of Hemospray®—a retained endoscope within the upper gastrointestinal (UGI) tract of an adult patient post-application of Hemospray® on a bleeding gastric tumor. …
