Retinoblastom

Zusammenfassung

Retinoblastome stellen 6 % aller malignen Tumoren bei Kindern unter einem Alter von 5 Jahren dar, die unbehandelt zu Erblindung der betroffenen Augen und Tod durch Metastasierung führen. Leitsymptome sind Leukokorie und Strabismus, die immer eine Abklärung möglichst innerhalb 1 Woche zum Ausschluss eines Retinoblastoms erfordern. Häufigste Differenzialdiagnosen sind Morbus Coats und PFV („persistent fetal vasculature“) sowie andere intraokulare Tumoren wie insbesondere Astrozytome. Systemische Chemotherapie, ggf. in Kombination mit Laserhyperthermie, lokale Chemotherapie und Brachytherapie sind die wichtigsten Methoden in der bulbuserhaltenden Therapie. Fortgeschrittene Fälle erfordern meist die Enukleation.
