Rhinitis — allergisch oder nicht?

Zusammenfassung

Per definitionem ist die Rhinitis ein Sammelbegriff für alle entzündlichen Veränderungen der Nasenschleimhäute mit den klassischen Beschwerden nasale Obstruktion, Rhinorrhoe, Juck- beziehungsweise Niesreiz. Dominierend sind hierbei allergische Ursachen (Typ-I-Sensibilisierungen auf Aeroallergene vom Soforttyp). Vielfach findet man aber in der Praxis Patienten mit negativen Allergietestresultaten, bei denen man aufgrund der Anamnese eine allergische Ursache vermuten würde. In diesem Fall ist ein Portfolio an nichtallergischen Differenzialdiagnosen zu berücksichtigen, die möglicherweise Ursprung der nasalen Symptomatik sind. Es gilt, die nichtallergischen Formen von der allergischen Rhinitis abzugrenzen, da grundlegend andere Pathophysiologien zugrunde liegen und die therapeutischen Ansatzpunkte verschieden sind.
