Excerpt
There are certain books that you should not avoid buying, and I believe Grabb and Smith's Plastic Surgery has proved over several years that it belongs to that class. This is a very concise, practical and comprehensive book. Previous editions found their places on the shelves of many students, residents and practicing plastic surgeons. However, the dynamics of the medical art, together with advances in technology and increased knowledge of science, required a newer edition. In this fifth edition there are 92 chapters written by very well known masters of their field. Seventy-three of the chapters are new, and 19 were rewritten by the previous authors. Throughout the text there are many figures and diagrams providing valuable information and explanations. At the end of each chapter, the reader is provided with a list of vital references. All of these are presented to the reader in an organized fashion, with high printing quality. For the first time with this edition, each printed copy comes with a CD-ROM version of the book, which makes it very portable and handy. Moreover, being able to read the entire text and see the figures on a personal computer brings flexibility and ease of preparation to any student or resident lecture. Grabb and Smith's Plastic Surgery in its fifth edition is a good tool for various reasons, and can be highly recommended not only to those working in our field but to those who share common topics with plastic surgery. …
