Zusammenfassung

Die saisonale allergische Konjunktivitis („seasonal allergic conjunctivitis“, SAC) ist ein häufiges Krankheitsbild, das oft mit einer allergischen Rhinitis einhergeht und sich als allergische Rhinokonjunktivitis präsentiert. Im Gegensatz zu den chronisch verlaufenden allergischen Konjunktivitiden zeigt die SAC einen nicht visusbedrohenden Verlauf. Pathogenetisch liegt der SAC eine IgE(Immunglobulin E)-vermittelte, Th2-prädominierte Typ-1-Hypersensitivitätsreaktion zugrunde. Das klinische Bild präsentiert sich mit Juckreiz, hellroter Bindehautinjektion sowie einer das Ausmaß der Bindehautinjektion übersteigenden Chemosis. Ziele der Behandlung sind akute Beschwerdelinderung, Kontrolle des zugrunde liegenden Entzündungsprozesses und die Nutzung präventiver Möglichkeiten. Dual wirksame Lokaltherapeutika vereinen durch den zweifachen Wirkansatz den Vorteil rascher Wirkung mit einem relativ nachhaltigen Effekt. Eine spezifische Immuntherapie ist bei ausgewählten Patienten sinnvoll.
