Schwangerschaftsabbruch aus medizinischer Indikation – bei Einlingsschwangerschaft

Zusammenfassung

Der Wunsch nach spätem Schwangerschaftsabbruch stellt häufig ein ethisches und moralisches Dilemma für alle Betroffenen und Beteiligten dar. Der Gesetzgeber hat die juristischen Grundzüge des Verfahrens vorgegeben, der genaue Ablauf des Beratungsprozesses wird von den Zentren festgelegt. Besonders belastend sind Abbrüche jenseits von 22 Schwangerschaftswochen (SSW), bei denen in aller Regel vor Einleitung ein Fetozid durchgeführt wird. Durch eine optimierte Pränataldiagnostik ließen sich manche dieser Fälle früher erkennen und damit die Rate an Fetoziden senken. Allerdings kann auch die Suche nach einer möglichst exakten Diagnose, die weitere diagnostische Maßnahmen oder Zweit- bzw. Verlaufsuntersuchungen zur Prognoseeinschätzung erfordert, zu einer als spät empfundenen Entscheidung – für oder gegen einen Schwangerschaftsabbruch – führen. Leider gibt es in Deutschland immer weniger Zentren, die sich der Problematik eines späten Abbruchs annehmen. Dies führt oft zu weiten Wegen und langen Wartezeiten für die Frauen, für das medizinische Personal zu großem organisatorischem Aufwand und einer physischen wie psychischen Überlastung.
