Cancer of the small bowel is a rare malignancy. With an incidence of less than 1 per 100,000 persons, it makes up only 5% of all gastrointestinal tract cancers. Celiac disease is a relatively common pathology and is often associated with the development of small bowel lymphoma. However, it is also a known risk factor for small bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA). We are reporting a case of a patient with recurrent bowel obstruction found to have a SBA and underlying celiac disease. …

Durvalumab verlängert Überleben nach begrenztem SCLC

Die Überlebensaussichten beim begrenzten kleinzelligen Bronchialkarzinom (SCLC) lassen sich signifikant verbessern, wenn an die Standard-Radiochemotherapie eine adjuvante Behandlung mit dem PD-L1-Antikörper Durvalumab angeschlossen wird.

Antikörper-Wirkstoff-Konjugat nach endokriner Therapie wirksamer als Chemotherapie?

Ergebnisse der DESTINY-Breast06-Studie sprechen dafür, dass Trastuzumab Deruxtecan beim HR-positiven metastasierten Mammakarzinom nach Progress unter endokriner Therapie ein längeres progressionsfreies Überleben erlaubt als eine Chemotherapie. 

JAK-Inhibitoren: Was die Zukunft bringen wird

Mehrere JAK-Inhibitoren sind bereits für verschiedene Hauterkrankungen zugelassen. Doch die Entwicklung geht weiter: Neben selektiveren Molekülen werden zurzeit andere Möglichkeiten erforscht, die Januskinasen zu adressieren. 

IC-Endometriumkarzinom: Adjuvanz ohne Einfluss auf Rezidive?

Geht es nach einer aktuellen Metaanalyse, liegt das Rezidivrisiko für Endometriumkarzinome im Stadium IC bei etwa 11%, woran auch eine adjuvante Therapie offenbar wenig ändert. Die Seltenheit der Tumoren sorgt aber für Unsicherheiten.
