Kopfschmerzen vom Spannungstyp sind zwar häufig, jedoch nur für wenige Betroffene lebensbestimmend, weshalb die Erkrankung in der Medizin ein Schattendasein fristet. Doch anhand welcher Merkmale lassen sich stark beeinträchtigte Patienten identifizieren? Und wie weit reichen die Möglichkeiten von Akuttherapie und Prophylaxe? Eine Bestandsaufnahme der aktuellen Empfehlungen und Studiendaten.
