This issue of the Journal features the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society (CAS) position paper on procedural sedation.1 It represents the most recent version of the usual Appendix 6 that appears in the CAS Guidelines to the Practice of Anesthesia, an updated version of which is published annually.2 The original position paper on sedation was released as an electronic material supplementary in 2011 as part of the Guidelines; as before, both are available in print and online through the CAS website. …
