Zusammenfassung

Die kombinierte Positronenemissionstomographie/Computertomographie (PET/CT) erlaubt als Methode der Ganzkörperbildgebung eine sensitive Erfassung entzündlicher Veränderungen. Mit ihr können sowohl exakte morphologische als auch molekulare Informationen dargestellt werden, sodass Erkrankungen umfassend charakterisiert werden können. Mit dem Glukoseanalogon 18F-Fluorodeoxyglukose (FDG) steht ein universell einsetzbarer Radiotracer zur Darstellung entzündlicher Prozesse zur Verfügung, dessen Anreicherung im Gewebe mittels des „standardized uptake value“ (SUV) semiquantitativ erfasst werden kann. Prinzipiell kann ein breites Spektrum infektiöser und nichtinfektiöser inflammatorischer und auch maligner Erkrankungen abgebildet werden. Ein zunehmender Einsatz der 18F-FDG-PET/CT findet sich bei der Diagnostik von Großgefäßvaskulitiden und bei der Abklärung unklar erhöhter systemischer Entzündungsparameter. Neben dem Radiotracer 18F-FDG können mittels anderer Radiopharmaka weitere Parameter entzündlicher Erkrankungen, wie z. B. andere Stoffwechselprozesse oder die Expression von Oberflächenrezeptoren, erfasst werden.
