Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is an acute neurological disorder characterized by headache, visual disturbances, seizures and vigilance status alteration. It is characterized by white matter vasogenic oedema affecting the posterior occipital and parietal lobes of the brain predominantly and it is often associated with acute hypertension. If promptly recognized and treated, the prognosis is usually favorable and the changes seen in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) resolve over days to weeks [1]. …
