Background: Ragweed (Ambrosia sp.) pollen is considered strongly allergenic. The region of Pannonian Plain is highly infected by Ambrosia sp. populations and is considered as one of the main source area of ragweed pollen monitored over Europe. The mechanism of Ambrosia pollen transport from this area to Poland and Scandinavia was recently described [
1], revealing that warm and dry conditions in source areas together with a jet-effect Kosava and orographic foehn winds enhance the pollen release and its movement over Carpathian mountains. Then suitable synoptic conditions cause the air transfer far to the north. …
