Zusammenfassung

Unsere Vorstellungen zur Synthese und zum Stoffwechsel der Schilddrüsenhormone haben sich durch eine Fülle neuer Befunde zu Proteinen der Biosynthese, zur Identifizierung spezifischer Schilddrüsenhormontransporter und zur Präzisierung intrazellulärer Aktivierungsvorgänge erheblich verfeinert. Deshalb können neue, bislang schwer zuzuordnende Laborkonstellationen nun diagnostisch erfasst werden. Zudem wurde die Entwicklung neuer Techniken stimuliert, die für die Zukunft erhoffen lassen, das Spektrum der Sekretionsprodukte der Schilddrüse und deren organspezifische Aktivierung präzise erfassen und damit die herkömmliche Labordiagnostik erheblich verbessern zu können.
