Zusammenfassung

Parenterale Ernährung hat für die Kinder- und Jugendmedizin einen hohen Stellenwert. Von den verschiedenen Formen ist die teilparenterale Ernährung diejenige, die bei Kindern am häufigsten angewandt wird. Nach den einer parenteralen Ernährung vorangehenden theoretischen Grundlagen befasst sich diese Kapitel mit den praktischen Aspekten, die notwendig sind, um Kinder der jeweiligen Altersstufen bedarfsgerecht und sicher parenteral zu ernähren. Hierbei werden alle praktischen Aspekte angesprochen – von den Zugangswegen, über Maßnahmen zur Reduktion von Nebenwirkungen bis zu Inkompatibilitäten von Infusionslösungen.
