Critical Care Nephrology has emerged as an important area of Intensive Care Medicine. This has coincided with the introduction of new terminology, changing definitions and new tests and technologies that may be confusing for those who are less familiar with the field of acute kidney injury (AKI). In this paper, we present a short glossary of terms that commonly appear in the literature.
