Lebensqualität bei Patienten mit chronischen Wunden

Zusammenfassung

Die Lebensqualität (LQ) von Patienten mit chronischen Wunden ist deutlich reduziert. Durch Schmerz, Wundgeruch und -exsudat erleben sie Einschränkungen in unterschiedlichsten Bereichen ihres täglichen Lebens. Schmerzen können zu Mobilitätsreduktion, Schlafstörungen oder verminderter Nahrungsaufnahme führen. Die körperlichen Einschränkungen durch die Wunde selbst, die Abhängigkeit von den Pflegenden und die finanzielle Belastung sind weitere Einflussfaktoren. Gleichzeitig führt die chronische Wunde zu Veränderungen im sozialen Leben, Rückzug von Freunden und Familien und einem Gefühl der Machtlosigkeit über das eigene Leben. Zu beachten ist das kumulative Zusammentreffen mehrerer Symptome und deren gegenseitige Beeinflussung. Vorbestehende Angststörungen oder eine depressive Erkrankung können die LQ weiter negativ beeinflussen. Es existieren verschiedene fach- und diagnosespezifische Erfassungsinstrumente, um die LQ von Patienten mit chronischen Wunden zu erfassen. Eine solche Erhebung sollte regelmäßig im Verlauf der Wundtherapie erfolgen. Insbesondere zu Beginn der Behandlung ist es wichtig, einschränkende Faktoren zu ermitteln und im Rahmen der Wundtherapie regelmäßig zu evaluieren und Lösungsansätze gemeinsam mit dem Patienten zu erarbeiten.
