Zusammenfassung

Die kognitiv-behaviorale Behandlung der Anorexia und Bulimia nervosa zielt zunächst auf die Normalisierung von Gewicht und Essverhalten ab. Im zweiten Schritt erfolgt die Bearbeitung assoziierter Problembereiche. Die kognitiv-behaviorale Behandlung gilt sowohl für Anorexia als auch Bulimia nervosa als Methode der Wahl. Die empirische Befundlage ist bei der Bulimia nervosa als gut zu bezeichnen, bei der Anorexia nervosa stehen Ergebnisse groß angelegter randomisiert-kontrollierter Studien noch aus. Neben der KVT kommen die interpersonelle Psychotherapie, familienorientierte und systemisch orientierte Ansätze, psychodynamische Therapieverfahren und Selbsthilfeprogramme bei der Behandlung von Essstörungen zur Anwendung.
