Zusammenfassung

Tics sind nichtrhythmische und weitgehend unwillkürliche Bewegungen oder Lautäußerungen, ohne dass ein Zweck zu erkennen ist. Man unterscheidet vorübergehende von chronischen Ticstörungen und diese wiederum vom Tourette-Syndrom. Differenzialdiagnostisch wird in den letzten Jahren zunehmend ein Zusammenhang zwischen Tics und Streptokokkeninfektionen beschrieben. Auch die Chorea minor im Rahmen des rheumatischen Fiebers kann Tic-ähnliche Symptome hervorrufen. Des Weiteren ist bei Tics an zahlreiche neurometabolisch-degenerative Erkrankungen zu denken.
