Nach den Daten des Robert-Koch-Institutes erkrankten 2016 etwa 16.470 Personen an einem invasiven Harnblasenkarzinom, gut ein Viertel davon Frauen [1]. Über 90 % aller Blasentumoren sind Urothelkarzinome. Therapeutisch wird ein multimodales Vorgehen mit optimaler, patientenorientierter Zystektomie und der Option einer frühen Chemotherapie favorisiert. Bei metastasierter Erkrankung ist eine medikamentöse Tumortherapie indiziert, wobei sich neben der Chemotherapie zunehmend zielgerichtete Strategien aber auch immunonkologische Ansätze etablieren.
