Zusammenfassung

Das Ameloblastom ist ein lokal invasiver odontogener Tumor mit verschiedenen histologischen Varianten und hoher Rezidivrate. Es gehört neben dem Odontom und der Keratozyste zu den häufigsten vorkommenden odontogenen Neoplasien. Die Therapie des Ameloblastoms besteht in der Resektion mit geeignetem Sicherheitsabstand. Zu Beginn des Jahres 2017 wurde die 4. und aktuelle Auflage der WHO-Klassifikation für Kopf-Hals-Tumoren publiziert. Sie überraschte allerdings mit zahlreichen Rerevisionen der Einordnungen aus der 3. Version.
