Neue WHO-Klassifikation 2017 „odontogene und maxillofaziale Knochentumoren“

Zusammenfassung

Hinsichtlich der WHO-Klassifikation „odontogene und maxillofaziale Knochentumoren“ kam es im Jahr 2017 zu Änderungen der alten Klassifikation aus dem Jahr 2005. Zu den wichtigsten Änderungen zählt die erneute Umbenennung des keratozystisch odontogenen Tumors zurück zur odontogenen Keratozyste. Als neue Entitäten wurden erstmals das „sklerosierende odontogene Karzinom“ und der „primordiale odontogene Tumor“ beschrieben. Ebenso wurden die Subklassifikationen des ameloblastischen Karzinoms und des primär intraossären Karzinoms aus der Klassifikation von 2005 vereinfacht.
