Diabetes mellitus und Osteoporose sind Volkskrankheiten, deren Prävalenz mit dem Alter steigt. Diabetes ist ein Risikofaktor für Osteoporose und Frakturen, weshalb die entsprechende Diagnostik bei diesen Patienten bereits vor Auftreten klinischer Osteoporose-Symptome erfolgen sollte. Hier sind die Knochendichtemessung und das Labor für die Entscheidung zur Therapie mit Kalzium und Vitamin D als Basis sowie spezifischen Therapeutika besonders wichtig. …
