Congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) have an incidence of around 3–6 in 1,000 live births and are thus among the most frequent abnormalities detected in new-born children [1]. Ureteral duplication is a common condition occurring in 0.8% of the population [2].
