Zusammenfassung

Pathologisches Glückspiel als psychopathologisches Phänomen findet zunehmend Beachtung in Wissenschaft und Praxis. Wenngleich die ätiologische Nähe sowohl zu den Impulskontrollstörungen als auch zu Zwangsspektrumsstörungen diskutiert wurde, haben klinische wie auch neurobiologische Ähnlichkeiten zu substanzgebundenen Störungen kürzlich im DSM-5 zu einer Einordnung unter den Abhängigkeitserkrankungen geführt. Dieser Artikel soll einen Überblick zum aktuellen Stand der Diagnostik, der Epidemiologie, der neurobiologischen Grundlagen sowie der Behandlungsoptionen geben und weitere Perspektiven aufzeigen.
