Welche Faktoren beeinflussen die psychische Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz?

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Im Arbeitskontext werden neben Arbeitsanforderungen und Arbeitsressourcen auch individuelle Merkmale der Person wie Bewältigungsstrategien im Umgang mit Belastungen und die Selbstwirksamkeitserwartung als wichtige Faktoren für die psychische Gesundheit angesehen.

Ziel der Arbeit

Die Zusammenhänge zwischen Arbeitsanforderungen, Arbeitsressourcen, individuellen Merkmalen und psychischer Gesundheit werden im Rahmen der DRIVE-Theorie („demands, resources, individual effects“) am Beispiel der Berufsgruppe von Polizisten untersucht. Damit werden Prädiktoren der psychischen Gesundheit identifiziert, um diese in der Gestaltung gesundheitsförderlicher Arbeitsbedingungen konkret berücksichtigen zu können.

Material und Methoden

Die Daten wurden im Rahmen einer Online-Befragung mit 1752 Polizisten erhoben. Zur Prüfung der Modellannahmen wurden Strukturgleichungsmodelle berechnet.

Ergebnisse

Die Ergebnisse bestätigten die direkten Effekte von Arbeitsanforderungen, -ressourcen und individuellen Merkmalen auf die psychische Gesundheit. Der Zusammenhang zwischen Arbeitsanforderungen und psychischer Gesundheit wurde durch die wahrgenommenen Arbeitsressourcen, jedoch nicht durch individuelle Merkmale moderiert.

Diskussion

Arbeitsressourcen erweisen sich als essentiell in der Prävention psychischer Symptome sowohl direkt als auch in der Reduktion arbeitsbezogener Verausgabung. Bewältigungsstrategien und Selbstwirksamkeitserwartung wirken darüber hinaus gesundheitsförderlich. Praktische Implikationen zur Förderung der psychischen Gesundheit von Polizisten und Hinweise für zukünftige Forschung werden diskutiert.
