Since 2016, the
Journal of Nuclear Cardiology has honored the author of the best editorial of the year with the Ken Brown Award, named after ASNC’s founding treasurer and sixth president. Ken Brown, MD (1951-2010) was Professor of Medicine at the University Vermont College of Medicine and was Director of the Nuclear Cardiology section there. He was active in ASNC and the Certifying Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC) and was very visible at national and international meetings. Ken also made important contributions to the field, including demonstration of the utility of perfusion imaging in the risk assessment of post-myocardial infarction patients
1. From 1994 to 2000, he authored the JNC section “Nuclear Cardiology in the Literature” and was considered an authoritative voice on the subject of quality research and medical writing. Given his legacy, it is highly appropriate that this honor is named after him. …
