Wirksamkeit von Atomoxetin bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen mit ADHS

Zusammenfassung

Der Artikel gibt eine Übersicht über Pharmakologie, Wirkung, Wirkdauer, Verträglichkeit und Nebenwirkungen von Atomoxetin bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen. Eine systematische Literaturanalyse der publizierten klinischen Studien sowie der Posterbeiträge über Atomoxetin wurde durchgeführt. Atomoxetin ist ein selektiver Noradrenalinwiederaufnahmehemmer und ist als erstes Nichtstimulans für die Behandlung von Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitäts-Störungen (ADHS) bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen in den USA zugelassen. Die Wirksamkeit ist in klinischen Studien an über 4000 Patienten erprobt worden. Atomoxetin erwies sich im Hinblick auf die Reduktion von Impulsivität, Hyperaktivität und Aufmerksamkeitsstörung als überlegen im Vergleich zu Plazebo. Es gibt Hinweise auf eine ähnlich gute Wirksamkeit wie Methylphenidat. Im Regelfall wurde Atomoxetin gut vertragen. Die am häufigsten angegebenen Nebenwirkungen sind Verminderung des Appetits, Abdominalbeschwerden, Müdigkeit und Schwindel. Diese Nebenwirkungen wurden als mild eingestuft und traten meist zu Therapiebeginn auf. Die vorliegenden Studienergebnisse zeigen, dass Atomoxetin eine viel versprechende Substanz zur Behandlung von ADHS bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen ist.
