Zusammenfassung

Auch in der Totalprothetik hat im letzten Jahrzehnt die Digitalisierung Einzug gehalten, und diverse Systeme haben sich etabliert. In dieser Übersicht werden 4 dieser Systeme vorgestellt. Ein großer Vorteil der digitalen Totalprothetik ist die Einsparung von Arbeitszeit im Labor, aber auch die Reduktion von Sitzungen in der Praxis. Im Vergleich zur konventionellen Herstellung mit 5 Sitzungen kann, je nach System, auf 2–4 Termine reduziert werden. Die verschiedenen Systeme unterscheiden sich in den Möglichkeiten der Restaurationsarten, Art des Bissregistrats, Auswahl der Prothesenzähne, Möglichkeiten einer Einprobe und Herstellungsverfahren der definitiven Prothese. Zahnarzt und Zahntechniker sollten gemeinsam die Wahl des Systems auf die Bedürfnisse der Patienten, aber auch auf die eigenen Ansprüche abstimmen. Totalprothetik bleibt auch mit digitaler Unterstützung eine anspruchsvolle Arbeit, welche für erfolgreiches Gelingen viel Erfahrung erfordert.
