28. Kardiologische Erkrankungen

Zusammenfassung

Kardiologische Erkrankungen treten auch bei Kindern und Jugendlichen auf. So kommen etwa 1 % aller Neugeborenen mit einem angeborenen Herzfehler zur Welt. Bei vielen Herzfehlern sind eine oder mehrere Eingriffe erforderlich, bei einigen ist eine Korrektur nicht möglich, so dass nur ein palliativer Eingriff erfolgen kann. Da Sport zu einer Belastung des Herz-Kreislauf-Systems führt, stellt sich die Frage, ob und wie viel Sport die betroffenen Kinder und Jugendlichen treiben dürfen. Aufgrund der positiven Auswirkungen von körperlicher Aktivität und Sport auf die kardiopulmonale Leistungsfähigkeit und die psychomotorische Entwicklung sowie der wichtigen Rolle bei der Prävention erworbener Erkrankungen des kardiovaskulären Systems sind regelmäßiger Sport und körperliche Aktivität auch bei Kindern mit kardiologischen Erkrankungen wichtig und sinnvoll. Nur Hochrisikopatienten dürfen wegen der Gefahr lebensbedrohlicher Rhythmusstörungen oder der Verschlechterung einer Herzschwäche keinen Sport treiben.

Laut einer Studie aus den USA und Kanada scheint es bei der Reanimation von Kindern außerhalb einer Klinik keinen Unterschied für das Überleben zu machen, ob die Wiederbelebungsmaßnahmen während des Transports in die Klinik stattfinden oder vor Ort ausgeführt werden. Jedoch gibt es dabei einige Einschränkungen und eine wichtige Ausnahme.

Welchen Einfluss das Alter ihrer Mutter auf das Risiko hat, dass Kinder mit nicht chromosomal bedingter Malformation zur Welt kommen, hat eine ungarische Studie untersucht. Sie zeigt: Nicht nur fortgeschrittenes Alter ist riskant.

Begünstigt Bettruhe der Mutter doch das fetale Wachstum?

Ob ungeborene Kinder, die kleiner als die meisten Gleichaltrigen sind, schneller wachsen, wenn die Mutter sich mehr ausruht, wird diskutiert. Die Ergebnisse einer US-Studie sprechen dafür.

Bei Amblyopie früher abkleben als bisher empfohlen?
