An anomalous origin of the right pulmonary artery from the ascending aorta is a rare and potentially fatal congenital cardiovascular malformation. Embryonic cone error appears to lead to the separation of the ascending aorta and the pulmonary artery [
1]. An anomalous origin of the right pulmonary aorta is frequently accompanied by other defects, including patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and aortic arch isthmus hypoplasia, among others. Most patients present with this anomaly during infancy and do not survive to adulthood without treatment. However, the present case describes a patient who presented as an adult. The management of this patient is discussed and surgical recommendation is presented for surgeons to consider when facing similar cases. …
