Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with microvascular invasion (MVI) have a worse prognosis after hepatectomy. The early recurrence rate (within 2 years) could reach 76.7% and the median recurrence-free survival is about 12 months.
1,2 Much clinical research has been performed on the classification of MVI, prediction models for MVI before surgery, and postoperative adjuvant treatments after hepatectomy, but no classification for early recurrence in particular.
