Zusammenfassung
Nach der internationalen Nomenklatur werden Gelenke als Knochenverbindungen bzw. Juncturae ossium in Junctura fibrosa, cartilaginea und synovialis bzw. Artikulatio oder Gelenk (s. Übersicht) unterteilt. Letztere der von Knorpel überzogenen Verbindungen mit umgebender Gelenkkapsel aus innerer synovialer Auskleidung und peripherer Capsula fibrosa erlauben die größte Bewegungsfreiheit [263]. Komplettiert werden die in sich geschlossenen funktionellen Systeme [63] durch Sehnen, die die Muskelkraft auf die Knochen übertragen, Bursen, die Gleitvorgänge erleichtern, sowie stabilisierende Bänder und Inkongruenzen ausgleichende Gelenkzwischenscheiben.
