Zusammenfassung

Hier werden die Grundlagen des diabetischen Fußsyndroms erörtert: Definition, Einteilung, Epidemiologie und Bedeutung. Die natürliche Geschichte der Erkrankung und die Abgrenzung gegenüber anderen Erkrankungen nehmen einen besonderen Raum ein. Dabei ist den Autoren wichtig, Einfaches einfach zu lassen. Das ist eine Herausforderung bei einer Krankheit, bei der schon der Name falsch ist. Was ist die „richtige“ Bezeichnung?
