Zusammenfassung

Kraniofaziale Chirurgie beschreibt einen interdisziplinären Aufgabenbereich, der sich mit der operativen Korrektur angeborener und erworbener auffälliger Varianten des Schädelaufbaus befasst. Neurochirurgische und gesichtschirurgische Expertise sind gleichermaßen gefordert, da im Rahmen übergreifender Korrekturen eine Verbindung zwischen intra- und extrakraniellen Kompartments geschaffen wird. Aus der Beschreibung der historischen Entwicklung des Aufgabenbereichs sowie typischer Krankheitsbilder erschließt sich unmittelbar der Stellenwert dieser engen Kooperation. Richtungsweisende therapeutische Entwicklungen werden vorgestellt, diskutiert und anhand einer repräsentativen Kasuistik verdeutlicht.

S3-Leitlinie „Diagnostik und Therapie des Karpaltunnelsyndroms“

Prof. Dr. med. Gregor Antoniadis Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist die häufigste Kompressionsneuropathie peripherer Nerven. Obwohl die Anamnese mit dem nächtlichen Einschlafen der Hand (Brachialgia parästhetica nocturna) sehr typisch ist, ist eine klinisch-neurologische Untersuchung und Elektroneurografie in manchen Fällen auch eine Neurosonografie erforderlich. Im Anfangsstadium sind konservative Maßnahmen (Handgelenksschiene, Ergotherapie) empfehlenswert. Bei nicht Ansprechen der konservativen Therapie oder Auftreten von neurologischen Ausfällen ist eine Dekompression des N. medianus am Karpaltunnel indiziert.
