Lifeline in der Narrativen Expositionstherapie

Zusammenfassung

Das biografische Gedächtnis von Menschen mit Traumafolgestörungen ist häufig zerrüttet. Die Überlebenden können nicht willentlich auf Erinnerungen zugreifen – oftmals gehen ganze Lebensabschnitte unter. Vermeidung setzt ein; die Biografie wird lückenhaft und wirkt fremd. Nach der diagnostischen Anamnese ist die Lifeline ein möglicher erster Schritt in der Annäherung an das Traumamaterial. Sie erlaubt in der Narrativen Expositionstherapie (NET), das emotionale Bedeutungsrelief des Lebens darzustellen und so erstmalig kontrollierten Kontakt zu den fragmentierten Erinnerungen aufzunehmen, bevor daraus eine chronologische Narration entsteht. Der Beitrag beschreibt damit Phase 2 der NET – das optionale Legen und die Bedeutung der Lifeline.

Das Seil sollte nicht zu dick gewählt warden. Filzschnüre eignen sich hier besonders, da sie keine negativen Assoziationen wecken.

Bei körperbehinderten Personen oder älteren Menschen kann das Seil auch auf einem Tisch ausgelegt werden. Eindrücklicher ist jedoch die Lifeline-Arbeit mit dem Auslegen quer durch den „Raum“.

Als Beispiele: Bei einem 40-jährigen Mann könnte eine Einteilung von etwa 40 cm je 10 Lebensjahre vorgenommen werden, und somit wäre die Gesamtlänge 1,60 m. Bei einem 12-jährigen Kind können 40 cm für jeweils 3 Jahre stehen und somit betrüge die Gesamtlänge hier 1,20 m.

Möglich ist es auch, dass Kinder und Jugendliche sich auf den Boden neben die Lifeline setzen. Möglich ist ferner, das „Gegenüber“ beizubehalten und sich als Therapeut auf die andere Seite des Seils zu setzen/stellen.

Steine für evtl. Befürchtungen werden hier nicht mehr gelegt.

„Exzentrische Positionalität“: Fähigkeit des Menschen, in ein Verhältnis zu sich selbst und seinem Leben zu treten, durch Abstand zum eigenen erlebenden Zentrum, ohne sich zu verlassen.
